<br />
1. VIB Status! Did anyone else take advantage of the Sephora sale last week? I finally organized mine and my moms order and what perfect timing! I am always so pleased with their customer service and shipping-- its always so fast! My last order sent me in to VIB status, weeee! <br />
<br />
2. Week one of our kitchen remodel is coming to a close. This is from the first day, since all of the cabinets have been delivered, but we are waiting on the electrician for them to be officially installed. I will be so happy when this is over! <br />
<br />
3. Well the countdown is on! 7 weeks until one of my best friends wedding! I guess that means its time to kick the healthy eating and spin in to high gear!<br />
<br />
4. It was administrative professional day on Wednesday. I suppose in a way I might be an administrative professional but I don't really have a specific job title, although that will be changing <i>soonish</i>. My boss sent each of us a beautiful arrangement of roses. This one opened up so beautifully Thursday morning!<br />
<br />
5. Part of my job allows me to see pictures of the homes being listed in the MLS in our area. I saw this table in one of them and I've been obsessed since. I haven't noticed anything similar before. I'm dying to know where it is from. Isn't it pretty?!<br />
<br />
Happy Friday!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7882881128149254745.post-52763453827498054562013-04-23T22:38:00.001-04:002013-04-23T22:38:58.389-04:00Headbands: Perfect Hair AccessoryHeadbands are the perfect accessory to a dirty-sweaty-hair-messy-bun look. They help to dress up the look and distract from dirt. I spent days scouring the interwebs looking for a few new additions to my collection. Not finding what I wanted, I gave in asked <a href="http://www.pinklouloulove.com/">Pink Lou Lou</a> for recommendations. She sent me to one store I never set foot in, forever 21! I know, I know but I find the store crazy and overwhelming and the clothes are junk. BUT she said I would find what I was looking for AND cheap. PLL was right on. I left with all of these for less than $35 and would have cost me $15-20 <b>each</b> at other stores. Heres what I found...<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSeyFci05Y1Z2oET6YJDKhlGEI_xrUSYGKPuvcCVc3JihSknI_pLaJgKClqTkfWwSDC6CRbA7lf90vc1GUUdFrchrJ7qVLw6XRuZYr69blQnUWteLTMO5pXVJzrnukUD4xnscAijyGTecC/s1600/headband+smaller_edited-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSeyFci05Y1Z2oET6YJDKhlGEI_xrUSYGKPuvcCVc3JihSknI_pLaJgKClqTkfWwSDC6CRbA7lf90vc1GUUdFrchrJ7qVLw6XRuZYr69blQnUWteLTMO5pXVJzrnukUD4xnscAijyGTecC/s640/headband+smaller_edited-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
I also picked up a set of flower clips. I thought for $2 why not and they weren't too large!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Do you have more suggestions? </div>

These link-ups are a great way to know a little more about a blogger.<br />
<br />
I tried really hard to make a pretty graphic to go with this post because pictures make everything better, but photoshop and I weren't being friendly!<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>1. What is your shopping weakness?</b><br />
Lululemon! I used to think this stuff was way over priced and was very content with my Nike stuff. That was until I stopped in the Georgetown location and bought a pair of Wunder Unders because I just wanted to know what was so amazing. Little by little, I started acquiring more. I find the the Run line better suits my needs with spin. I bought these two recently. I mean pink is a necessity!<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And Sephora! I could easily spend a couple bucks in there every time! I just get sucked in and think everything is neat. I have an overflowing basket of goodies but I always go back to my old Clinique standbys. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br />
<b>2. What is your food weakness?</b></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hmm this is tough. Outback Steakhouse? Mexican with a margarita! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>3. What is your go to movie when nothing is on?</b></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You can't really go wrong with Sweet Home Alabama! I remember being obsessed with Reese's fashions when this movie first came out.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<b>4. What is your breakfast food?</b><br />
Every morning: 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 pieces of whole wheat toast, 1/2a banana (Jaeger and maybe Mojo eat the other half!), 4 oz of tomato juice and a cup of iced coffee!<br />
<br />
<b>5. Do you drink coffee? If so, how do you take it?</b><br />
A coffee roaster opened in town within a couple of years and ever since I've become super spoiled. I only drink their iced coffee with a splash of cream, no sweetener. It is so smooth because it is cold brewed and also has the highest caffeine content!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I am that crazy girl at the gym often twice a day. I love killing it in class and pushing myself to new levels.<br />
<br />
I joined a local gym nineteen months ago, when I was done with DAT studying at the time with not a lot going on- no job, no real commitments- the gym was just something to do. Jealousy (<em>eww</em>) ultimately pushed me to join because my daily 3 mile speed-walks with Jaeger clearly weren't helping me kick the lazy bug.<br />
<br />
I knew this person I was <i>jealous </i>of took spin/cycle classes so I convinced my friend and mom (because sidekicks make everything better) we were going to take a class. Let me be honest, that class was a-w-f-u-l. I thought I was going to die. Our instructor told us we had to come back for at least one more class before we could decide about spinning. I kept going to classes and I caught the bug! I started adding more classes during the week and before I knew it I braved a twice-a-day. Spin is a great class with low impact, high intensity and lots of resistance.<br />
<br />
So how did I become an instructor? Especially so quickly. Just shy of a year since I first started, the group fitness manager, who also teaches great spin classes stopped me before our class and asked if I had ever considered becoming an instructor. She had complimented me before on my speed ability and endurance. I said, "well several people have suggested I get certified, but I've never really given it much thought." I talked with my family and they encouraged me to take the opportunity. <br />
<br />
Before I knew it, I was signed up for training. Training was a great experience and there was so much energy in our class! After I figured, okay, I got certified but I was in no rush to apply. HA HA! She called me the next week and set up a time for another girl and I to practice. We were to come with a routine. I tried to backpedal out of this one. She then told us we would be auditioning that week. <em>SAY WHAT!</em> Mother nature had other plans that week. We had a hurricane coming and auditions were delayed! <em>Hallelujah! Wait, more time to freak out, not good! </em><br />
<br />
I finally got auditions over and done with,<em> I thought I performed horribly</em>. Wrong, I was called the next day. In true Caitlin fashion, I ignored the call and refused to check my voicemail. Ya, well she is persistent and called again and again. Finally I called to find out I was hired, I needed to sign paperwork and discuss availability. Oh and I was being paid.... <br />
<br />
I signed the paperwork and had two classes of my very own. "Don't forget you can pick up sub classes too." Okay, okay. Little did I know, I would quickly work my way to five classes and consistently subbing. I was committed to this little <em>fun</em> job. I am often told I am going to burn out, but I don't see that in the near future. You know the after workout high you get from endorphins and the feeling of getting something accomplished? It is an awesome feeling. Pretty hard to achieve the same caloric burn in any other class or on machinery. <br />
<br />
I don't anticipate stepping away from spinning ever. It is my thing. Something I found that works for me. For the longest time I tried to be a runner. I jumped on the C25K bandwagon only to find out I had patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is really fancy for runners knee. I was a competitive swimmer in middle and high school. After being away from swimming in college, I realized I didn't miss the chlorine stench and the awful tan lines. My point: exercise is important to your physical and mental health. Just find something that you enjoy! Don't try to force yourself, find what works for you and you WILL fall in love with it too!<br />
<br />
Here's to a little inspiration to get out there this weekend and try something new!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7882881128149254745.post-90400328550664111162013-04-12T18:00:00.004-04:002013-04-12T18:02:26.534-04:00Friday FiveFive favorites seems to be the new Friday post. In attempts to blog more frequently, here are my Friday Five! <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
1. This morning was my first day back in the gym since LAST Saturday. Five days is a big deal when you are cycle instructor and thus have a crazy weird addication to cycling! I was out of town for work and there was just not enough time in the day to get to a class!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17kPzcRx7JpeMrFFgIpqiF017QeQ7VMZ6aEw-p4AhGY-VsSo5ZwxJ1yxZo43V4kGeoVBNI00Cdkk2411amjGGMVyRBnEzJhbjeXCmCtk-U56kZ01_GfUc1UVsCgW7TU2rT395P_wghnZE/s1600/photo1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17kPzcRx7JpeMrFFgIpqiF017QeQ7VMZ6aEw-p4AhGY-VsSo5ZwxJ1yxZo43V4kGeoVBNI00Cdkk2411amjGGMVyRBnEzJhbjeXCmCtk-U56kZ01_GfUc1UVsCgW7TU2rT395P_wghnZE/s1600/photo1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17kPzcRx7JpeMrFFgIpqiF017QeQ7VMZ6aEw-p4AhGY-VsSo5ZwxJ1yxZo43V4kGeoVBNI00Cdkk2411amjGGMVyRBnEzJhbjeXCmCtk-U56kZ01_GfUc1UVsCgW7TU2rT395P_wghnZE/s200/photo1.JPG" width="200" /><br />
</a><br />
<div align="left">
<span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /></span><span style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg17kPzcRx7JpeMrFFgIpqiF017QeQ7VMZ6aEw-p4AhGY-VsSo5ZwxJ1yxZo43V4kGeoVBNI00Cdkk2411amjGGMVyRBnEzJhbjeXCmCtk-U56kZ01_GfUc1UVsCgW7TU2rT395P_wghnZE/s1600/photo1.JPG" imageanchor="1"></a>2. I splurged for a gel manicure while out of town. I always get a mani/pedi but I decided the occasion called for a little pampering and I thoguht my nails should look more professional than a bright red! I was thrilled with the salon and if you are ever in Tallahassee I highly recommend Royal Nails. They were highly recommended to me and I am passing it along. It was a little pricey but so so worth it. I felt very pampered and my nails looks awesome! And they best part, they will still look awesome for a bridal shower I am attending Sunday! (I don't know the color, I made it up - its a combination!)</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. I was so excited to see this adorable face and his brother (yes, you too Mojo!) after said trip. This little guy is my night owl and I really missed him and his company while I was gone.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Seabreezes are my drink of choice right now. I have perfected an at-home recipe: 4 oz of grapefruit juice (fresh is best and luckily we have a grove locally!), 2 oz vodka and 1.5 oz of cranberry juice. Fill a glass with ice, pour ingredients over ice, shake to combine. If you're really fancy, throw a lime slice on the rim!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Cheers to the weekend! Its 5 o'clock so I'm rushing out the door and grabbing one of the above! :)</div>

After spending hours browsing <a href="http://thebeautydepartment.com/" target="_blank">The Beauty Department</a> and taking my new found must have list to the drug store (because lets face it, I'm not spending money for designer name just to try it out and we don't have a <em>real</em> Sephora, just a little stand inside JCPenney), here's what I left with: <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img border="0" bua="true" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAmsLASbNMp1spLH5tCpQANQMOj4HuviX5ePhNMXNF8vKk0V1ZK4ZFa_cxOf_CsZaELwhpNyCGY98zp2lzKTvXfsYiSr0cpn-VapIO7jI0-h5ve65OegDNwfGYCFSFyhcknD1uuvq193jm/s200/lip+liner.jpg" width="200" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sally Hansen Invisible Lip Liner $7 </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I set out for an invisible lip liner, well apparently Sally Hansen is the only drugstore brand that has a clear lip liner. And I can really tell a difference when I put my lipstick on. The line is more perfect if that makes sense. <br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">

Okay, so apparently I am really late to the game because intuitive lipsticks and glosses have been around a couple of years. I remember seeing Smashbox O-Gloss a couple years ago, but I never knew what it was. Well lets just say this stuff is the B-O-M-B! In short, it warms up to your ideal color. Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker comes in a Pink, Light Pink and Peach. I picked the pink and holy moly, my lips are pink! So I tried it out on my grams and my boss. Grams was a lighter pink and my boss lady was more of a red. Even better, this wand has a light! So now every beauty counter I pass I try the intuitive lip colors. I definitely have my eye on a few others! <br />

In simple terms this is an anti-shine mattifier. TBD suggested this for a more budget-friendly option to Mally's Poreless Face Defender. Well Mally's is $40 and I have not a clue where to even buy Mallys. I just dab it with a sponge on my T-zone and my chin. It seems to work well. </div>

Well this find is credited to my my friend that works in cosmetics at Walgreens. I was really looking for a lilac eyeliner pencil and well, thats a little to fancy for drugstores I suppose. (I did find my lilac eyeliner and it really does work! My eyes are brighter with just a little liner.) TBD told me it would make my eyes brighter and cancel out the yellow and was perfect for those of us who don't wear makeup. She said I was crazy and didn't need it but I really wanted something to try this. This stuff is a-w-e-s-o-m-e! Coffee helps to de-puff and the coverage is just enough. Better than any other eye concealer I've bought. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
And with that, I guess you could say I'm back! I will try to do a much better job updating more consistently. </div>

</div>June 21, 2011 was National Wear Your Lilly Day. Of course I participated and I tried to blog about it in the morning, but Blogger was not cooperating with me. So I wanted to post my outfit anyways, even though a week has since passed.<div><br />
</div><div>I headed to the Yacht club midday with a friend. We headed out early, enjoyed lunch and drinks, spent some time laying out and hopped in the pool. And here is what I wore (I actually wore a print from last summer, but I recently purchased this one too and a matching cover up):</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.splashofpink.com/department/ladies/ladies-swimwear/product/seaspray_halter_top" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH3QYINiw81RU_etdDJe8GtUJJtv4GZpsVFxngk5GwgLrYGgosxNs1h-U99xqtgSyrDkum7clInNueyYwd1NQaq7pouPgt8pdkjo4jNp5-eCoh4-rQfZL3myk4J1WPDcDCyeX1tJk-P18Q/s1600/7574-default-M.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My skin sure wasn't happy post-yacht club. I'm not sure what happened other than my sunscreen was splotchy. I actually had a hand print around my knee and streaks on the top of my legs. I did reapply so I must be terrible with the sprays. I tried the new Neutrogena Wet Skin and used a Neturogena Ultra Sheer on my skin. I also had a hat and sunglasses so my face was extra protected. </div><div><br />

I grabbed the ingredients on the way out (I could recall those) but I was unsure of the measurements. I googled to see what I could find and <a href="http://www.food.com/recipe/mexican-pasta-salad-with-salsa-169095">this recipe</a> is pretty close, enough to make it work. I like that this pasta salad is different than the typical pasta salad.<div><br />
</div><div>This is what we came up with:</div><div><br />
</div><div>1 box shell pasta, <i>I used Dreamfields elbows </i></div><div>1 jar salsa, <i>any</i></div><div>1 bunch green onion, <i>chopped</i></div><div><i></i>1 1/4 cups mayonnaise </div><div>Garlic salt, <i>to taste </i>(about 1 tablespoon)</div><div>pepper, <i>to taste</i></div><div><i><br />
</i></div><div>1. Cook pasta according to directions on box. Drain and rinse.</div><div>2. In large bowl, combine all ingredients and stir to coat.</div><div>3. Chill approximately one hour and serve.</div><div><br />
</div><div>Personally I enjoy it more when its warm. </div><div><br />

So obviously I grabbed my camera and ran out. The poor pups were locked inside because they <s>are babies</s> HATE the dock and stand there and bark. They actually stepped off the dock when they were puppies during a hurricane as we were experiencing very high tides. <br />

</div> This is a picture from a few weeks ago at dinner. The family of dolphins, all nicknamed Flipper, were swimming in. It looked like they were on their way home.<br />
<br />
I am so blessed to call this place home! Growing up I saw so much sea life because of my Dad and where we live. Once there was a pregnant male seahorse attached to the bait bucket. My Dad is always observant and noticed him so my sister and I saw a pregnant seahorse up close and personal!<br />

We left with just enough time to swing by International Plaza and grab some things from Sephora. (We have Ulta locally and for odds and ends, I like them but, the employees are not too friendly and have little knowledge about products they carry.) I came home with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml%3B$sessionid$WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ;jsessionid=WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ?id=P1815&categoryId=B70" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh87O3wwxbf35jw5RcXTbdYD7-pni9ZltHcjWTcNBGMACvt3-8jJuUzMwQ9uoiJSZF_0CfvhMPAern9awtz5C6yKQtq5sLX8FyNjj8Ea4_1aLxOT378clPOl11dFEWzKYK7EmOoh6_Ca-NP/s1600/P1815_hero.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I was so excited to get this product. Everyone has been talking about glycolic acid and I finally did too. I was going to get a Peter Thomas Roth gel, but the girl at Sephora showed me a handful of products and said she really liked this one. So far I really like it. I use it at night only. It doesn't burn, just leaves my skin a little tingly for five minutes or less. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml%3B$sessionid$WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ;jsessionid=WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ?id=P122881&categoryId=A47" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi96o_CdjjdPSMjza3HEiIIdcdiJr8aj3AisDSrnH94iDSOv6Us6svrv9gupzbL-rg5w4LLwbQu_QZ8N7945bbeU6MKCSdMe2e1v9ZFCTHnOIqAtDg6dvF2-IusQUjDJZ1OcfOYqQTJ9_Eq/s1600/P122881_hero.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have used Clinique products since I really started wearing make-up. This product is a staple in my skincare routine. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml%3B$sessionid$WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ;jsessionid=WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ?id=P183433&categoryId=A47" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU4iBF0V8MgZ3gQpVm1bvWukIyD8PVbz4uGdw7FvG-7kngjIdPJgu_gk18KywhG2QDGENKssUii2lReI6pgmGJoTXY2JTDMudDqzBviWx3bqnfOPNXhnJ3nZFEjFmA4yS8i7rskcwTmHlv/s1600/P183433_hero.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I use this as blush even thought it is for all over color. I have also used this product for years. For basic day-to-day makeup I wear what I know works. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml%3B$sessionid$WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ;jsessionid=WGDZXG3F5MLKOCV0KSGBHOQ?id=P226706&categoryId=A47" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcqb0a4WZ6fWuWNUZIJOsJ13nzsinO4GfycnNmoG5PF0_PEHCjEBFRsaac-baqq9j9EKsV3-9p7cILIpBJ8Nl91_vmaGRd4K2Mr-DvEN0O5xQVRbZREeTJATSaYAkSgH_yui6ceUmogPwO/s1600/P226706_hero.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I use this with my Clarisonic. I used to use an Olay face wash before the I received the Clarisonic at Christmas. I can't imagine using it now, the exfoliating beads were much bigger. I really like the exfoliating beads and the ones in this Bliss product are very small. I'm not sure I could use plain foaming face wash. </div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I thought the price was a little steep, but I saw this lipgloss last time I was at Sephora and I've wanted it ever since. </div>I found <a href="http://www.publix.com/aprons/meals/AllRecipes/SimpleMeal.do?mealId=2668&mealGroupId=1000">this</a> recipe in the Publix Apron section while waiting at the deli. It was delicious and so easy to make. My Mom and I loved the potatoes. They were flavorful and different from the typical baked potato.<br />
<div><br />
</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjygWrFETAwi3MB3CjHO3HiW2by9PIOqAKQPDj1Xhi5XUsXXHNJ1Z5Vucp91bqOsxT1ztrSK3ZoNys4GWLM4naWPTkwRqqbXT4cByc1zqSFbKW2Vv9xM17as2UMwAU2puq_QOwj-Wn6MRuM/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-06-02+at+1.15.48+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjygWrFETAwi3MB3CjHO3HiW2by9PIOqAKQPDj1Xhi5XUsXXHNJ1Z5Vucp91bqOsxT1ztrSK3ZoNys4GWLM4naWPTkwRqqbXT4cByc1zqSFbKW2Vv9xM17as2UMwAU2puq_QOwj-Wn6MRuM/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-06-02+at+1.15.48+PM.png" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
The recipe calls for grilling steaks. We used filet mignon. The Aprons card recommends sour cream for the potatoes; we didn't find it necessary. I also prepared corn-on-the-cob.<br />
<br />
We will be making this meal again soon!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
xoxo</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7882881128149254745.post-41706037409258848882011-06-01T16:11:00.000-04:002011-06-01T16:11:12.662-04:00February to May Wrap-up!The last time I posted was February 15th. Holy cow! And so much has happened since I last updated. <div><br />
</div><div>School became hectic but I graduated May 1st and am now a UF alumna. Spring break and Easter where somewhere in there too. Dietetic matches were also released. Post graduation included packing and moving, fun at the yacht club and taking it easy. After a few days I cracked open the GRE books and <s>crammed</s> studied. The GRE is required for a Medical Masters program I am considering. The English section killed me and I didn't do as well as I hoped. Now I am waiting to see where I stand. Now it is time to open up the DAT prep books again and really start studying, not cramming, since this is my career goal. The applications opened today, so it is time to get serious! </div><div><br />
</div><div>Graduation was wonderful! But I was sad to bid farewell to my friends. My family and and second family showered me with fabulous gifts. My best friend/adopted/second sister listened to me every time I rambled on and on about a brick in front of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. They had to call my mother and make sure she didn't order one because they were. My sister had a Longchamp navy duffle monogrammed and gave me <a href="http://www.lodis.com/leather/shop-womens/wallets/credit-card/audrey-credit-card-case-with-zipper-pocket/4889">this</a> Lodis wallet full of gift cards. My grandma gifted me a trip to anywhere and additional Exxon/Mobil stock. I am in LOVE with my Mom's gift. I spotted this gorgeous diamond and white gold key necklace while Christmas shopping for my sister. My Mom had me completely tricked. At Christmas she gave my ball earrings from the same store and since forgot about the necklace, until I opened it up. I was ecstatic. I know keys are <i>in</i> right now, but this piece of jewelry is timeless. </div><div><br />

</div><div>And this was my cap! (Those might look like rhinestones but they are pearls!) It was so me and I have to thank kt janes of Tampa, Florida for the monogram and their superb customer service. I was so late in ordering but she made it as soon as we hung up and overnighted it to me! </div><div><br />

</div><div>I've been walking this sweet boy every night. He now expects his walk and <s>whines</s> waits at the front door in the evenings. He looked like he put on a few pounds while I was at school so I'm kicking his butt into shape. The exercise is good for me too by keeping my blood glucose lower without insulin. We are walking at least two miles nearly every night. </div><div><br />
</div><div>I plan to blog more often, not daily but a couple times a week. I'm sure there is so much more I can add to this post, but I'm running for now! </div><div><br />

</div><div>I was a total bum Christmas break and shopped all day and stayed home all night. </div><div><br />
</div><div>So what did I get from my Wish List? </div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2yRBStWMTHmLwa7tbTApKAAXZhF-OhPUVh10CfWIwYSeB0IXTIHi53WfQkpeaI5_nTrZq0O3UcvEBKZjqRunZQ7tQ7OpGqsQ9mr6l4guskP8MMn79UldTafsqTwylGvq1oKIUwD15UFyP/s1600/51Sqmx0K%252BoL._SS400_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2yRBStWMTHmLwa7tbTApKAAXZhF-OhPUVh10CfWIwYSeB0IXTIHi53WfQkpeaI5_nTrZq0O3UcvEBKZjqRunZQ7tQ7OpGqsQ9mr6l4guskP8MMn79UldTafsqTwylGvq1oKIUwD15UFyP/s200/51Sqmx0K%252BoL._SS400_.jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div><br />

</div><div>A <a href="http://www.cuisinart.com/products/stand_mixers/sm-55bc.html">Cuisinart</a> mixer! Let me just mention that I begged and begged for a KitchenAid but my Mom did a little research and concluded that the Cuisinart would be better. (I love it and think it is better than the Kitchen Aid.) It has 800 watts, much higher than KitchenAid (I am notorious for killing mixers). And I loveee the fifteen minute countdown (really handy for marshmallows). I was surprised beyond surprised when I opened it. I've wanted a mixer for some time but I assumed I would get one when I was done with college. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuNG9c3cNQjAk0l44PdnuDvLz8RfoLXi4EFY0pfqLBI0iHv3SaeMF-GNIoc3eBvWDN7Y_DRZb5MekrRj9yh3f3Gi2VKTlkscWDnZDPacXZgyKSAS3YrOgmRtx549sEfefxdz4IfFaVKikE/s1600/sm-55bc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuNG9c3cNQjAk0l44PdnuDvLz8RfoLXi4EFY0pfqLBI0iHv3SaeMF-GNIoc3eBvWDN7Y_DRZb5MekrRj9yh3f3Gi2VKTlkscWDnZDPacXZgyKSAS3YrOgmRtx549sEfefxdz4IfFaVKikE/s200/sm-55bc.jpg" width="196" /></a></div><div><br />

I love it. I have a classic print. It is navy. I can't remember the name of the style.<br /><br />At some point it was rough-housed and has a little tear. (I think the flight people were mean to it when I let my suitemate borrow it.) It is still useable and I have used it. But I think I would like a new one. And what perfect timing considering the print I think I want is being retired and therefore on sale.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxErnZ2aqBfEzYYfjdgWULa9Ruoix2b-TU1LsYLi9qxg6tZeaH_oTz3jABMITax20gRgGPBsDK5WqFdgxLzByqAEkUoOXfGtlhnuzj0I0PeQ5NMP6NWhpgJi4LWpkiJ9bKQzWmnjcddMr_/s1600/duffle_blue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxErnZ2aqBfEzYYfjdgWULa9Ruoix2b-TU1LsYLi9qxg6tZeaH_oTz3jABMITax20gRgGPBsDK5WqFdgxLzByqAEkUoOXfGtlhnuzj0I0PeQ5NMP6NWhpgJi4LWpkiJ9bKQzWmnjcddMr_/s320/duffle_blue.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It would go nicely with the rest of my travel set.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:red;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The only bummer. <br />
I purchased one of these last year and I absolutely love it. It thin and so warm. And the fleece is super soft. Mine is purple colored.<br />
<br />
I would love another one. I just can't decide what color I would like better. The purple I have is dark so I'm not sure if I would rather a more neutral color or a strong/bright color.<br />
<br />
They also have an embossed style now (shown above).<br />

I was looking in the magazine section for Christmas craft ideas. I rounded the corner to books and started flipping through. There are so many tips, suggestions, etc. </div><div><br />

</div><div><br />
</div><div>This book would be a great addition to my book shelf. </div><div><br />

<br />
Yes, one of these bad boys is on my Christmas wish list! Yes, I have to many totes. And yes, I am slightly obsessed.<br />
<br />
I have a large one in green. And I definitely need another one. They are great for when I go home. I throw so much random stuff in them! They are so durable. The L.L. Bean Boat and Tote would also make for an excellent market tote.<br />
<br />
Now the question is, what size and handle strap do I want? I either want a large or extra large. I think if I got another large, one with long handles would be nice. But extra large I'm sure I would only want short handles.<br />
<br />
Mom, if you already ordered one, I'm sure I will love it. Don't worry! :)<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">xoxo</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7882881128149254745.post-44990307771020253012010-12-01T07:26:00.000-05:002010-12-01T07:26:00.733-05:00Wish ListNow that everyone knows my mom reads this, I'm going to do a series of posts about Christmas wish and wants.<br />
<br />
I'm pretty sure she will look at this and say dream on. But I can wish, right?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Canon-T2i-Digital-3-0-Inch-18-55mm/dp/B0035FZJHQ" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-rfznBerOTHNDHkyx0AR9n5ufQRkYPNVx2OONyE-kTCzRthLTalUWq6egFbURTVSPg_iGqcjdAE49Dy7-l8iK6BINAlaR64mmVTqiQrl5dlj0KokTCRXDWJKhESJ-lx9dD3Eap54rDhrk/s1600/41LxZAhgkcL._SL500_AA300_.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Justification here, I have a really old digital camera (like six years old) that take horrible (pixelated) pictures. My mom has an old Canon Rebel from before digital was popular. I have always dreamed of having one of my own. They take amazing pictures and the prints can be enlarged with no problems! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div>Or course, I would want a really pretty strap to cover the really ugly one.<br />
<br />

I can't believe it has been over ten days since I wrote on the blog! (Sigh! Sad that school was in the way! I was on a roll with three or four weeks of solid blogging!) Those ten days were very crazy. I took two exams (Biochemistry and Medical Nutrition Therapies) plus had like five assignments due! I had the weekend off, worked at the store, and watched the South Carolina game. I took a Nutrition and Disease exam Tuesday night, went to class Wednesday and drove home.<br />
<br />
I was stuck in horrible traffic! And when traffic is slow, I tend to make a few phone calls. Well my last call was with my mom, when I noticed a fire truck driving south on northbound (that was funny) and realized I had not seen cars passing on northbound for at least twenty minutes. I was noting to my mom that I thought there was a Bayflite helicopter trying to land because a helicopter had circled a few times. I came around the bend of trees to see the helicopter landed and northbound traffic at a dead stop (for at least ten miles). I was so thankful that I was at least moving, even if it was a crawl. I always think about those in the helicopter and their families. A weekend of fun and celebration cut short.<br />
<br />
I knew staying for class Wednesday meant I was going to be traveling in heavy traffic and that my drive was going to be longer than normal. I traveled forty miles (generous) in an hour and a half. And in that time I witnessed three almost accidents. I wish people would think logically when traveling by road on major holidays. We are all trying to get somewhere, but tailgating and weaving in congested traffic is never a good idea. Expect an additional hour or more of travel and you won't be so annoyed with delays.<br />
<br />
We have this little thing called Turkey Trot on the key, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I was so excited to finallyyyyy be legal and partake in the festivities. However, I was way too tired after traveling and my exam to go! I am bummed I missed it. But hopefully next year won't be so hectic before and I'll get to participate.<br />
<br />
Thanksgiving was different this year. It was not my kind of Thanksgiving or fun for that matter, but I did it and told my family "I went, I saw, I was pleasant, I will never go again." We traveled Thanksgiving day to my Grandfathers property. It was in the boonies. Nothing to see, nothing to do (not that there is on Thanksgiving; our family also believes in not patronizing businesses that are open on holidays). I don't really get a long with this side of the family either. Cocktails would have been grand but they were not served.<br />
<br />
We also don't do the crazy Black Friday shopping. (Well we did once, to the outlet mall. And no one has wanted to ever again.) We always pick up a paper on Thursday to see the ads, but they didn't look too exciting this year. We eventually made it to the mall. The last place I wanted to go. My mom thought I did. But we ended up having an enjoyable time and my grandmother tagged along too. I mentioned I was looking for riding boots on here a few weeks ago. My mom reads this (Hi Mom!) so she was planning on gifting me a pair at Christmas. But you can't just pick those out for someone and thank goodness she didn't buy the ones I thought I wanted. My calf is apparently too big for regular boots and I didn't like the extended calf ones. (My calfs aren't fat. They're muscular. Strong calfs are good, but not good for riding boots. Darn!) We had to stop for lunch (it was three, but still lunch in my book!). Checked out Williams Sonoma and Victorias Secret. And then proceeded to spend a good two hours (at least) in Ann Taylor Loft! I found cute jeggings, jeans, corduroys, skirts, super cute cardigans and tops. Luckily I remembered I needed a pair of black slacks for a presentation Friday. We were finally leaving when my mom realized the time. It was after eight. This time change has done a number on us, still! I thought it was six or so, since it is darker earlier now.<br />
<br />
I don't remember Saturday, other than picking out our Christmas tree and getting my nails done. We get a live tree every year. We didn't for a few years and I was so sad! I love the smell. I also think you can tell a fake tree. It is currently falling so we can decorate it.<br />
<br />
Sunday was all about the homework. I have to huge group projects that we have worked on all semester due Thursday and Friday.<br />
<br />
And I am driving back today!<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;">xoxo</span>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7882881128149254745.post-29207624192656594892010-11-16T07:17:00.001-05:002010-11-22T00:21:13.928-05:00It's All a Blur<div>So the weekend ran a little long. And it was a pretty good weekend! :)</div><div><br /></div><div>I drove back to school Sunday. It had to be the worlds longest trip. I was in dead-stopped traffic for over an hour and a half. The trailer of the semi involved was mangled. The cab looked okay, so hopefully the driver didn't suffer too serious of an injury.</div><div><br /></div><div>This week is soo hectic (as is the rest of the month). I have a million and one things due Thursday. I have an exam next Tuesday night. Thanksgiving. Then, I come back to a million GROUP (I despise group things) projects that are due. I'm pretty sure my professors fail at looking at the calendar. And I'm in a small program and everyone takes the same classes senior year. You'd think they would try to coordinate, at least a little. Not. </div><div><br /></div><div>So, posts this week might be a little sporadic. Sorry about that. I accomplished nothing while home for the weekend!</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FF0000;">xoxo</span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1
