The Juice Stand

Okay so this might be a shameless plug, maybe because I work for this store, but hear me out.

You should follow this blog. No, really you should! This isn't your average Lilly loving blog and/or prepster blog. The concept is amazing!

The Juice Stand was born with the idea of wearing and styling Lilly 365 days. Most people don't wear head-to-toe Lilly or dresses every day and thus The Juice Stand was born.

Hop on over and follow The Juice Stand. Lauren Alexa is beyond creative!

School Bags

Now that classes have started and are in full swing again, lets talk bags.

I have four go-to school bags.

The ever so classic large Longchamp tote.  I usually grab my chocolate one.  I also have royal blue.  I'm always scoping out new colors too. I think the bilberry one is next.  I love the deep purple! I don't usually use this tote if I'm taking my laptop.  Its lack of structure makes it difficult to carry a laptop.

I picked up a tote similar to this one over the summer.  I had no idea it was a baby bag.  But it works well with my laptop.

This is my everyday choice! The ever reliable North Face backpack. I chose the Recon style. I actually have the dark blue color scheme. I love all the pockets. The large mesh pocket on the front is convenient for my umbrella! And the pockets on the side work well with my Tervis Tumblers. I am on campus all day Tuesday and Thursdays so I normally have this with me!

My last bag, is my Lilly Pulitzer tote. I love this babe. It's very sturdy, similar to the L.L.Bean totes, but with a super cute pattern. I Scotch Garded mine to protect it!

It depends what my day entails, what I need to take to campus, and what I'm wearing.  But these are my top choices of bags for class.

What do you use on a daily basis? Do you have any recommendations?

Pink & Green Thursday

A few weeks back Trish at Preppy Pink Lilly Lover asked me to participate in Pink & Green Thursday. Last week was so busy, I didn't get a chance to post anything. So I am making it up this week!

I am just dying over these iPhone covers, but sadly I don't own an iPhone. You can pre-order them from The Colorful Gator.

This preppy pink and green Kiel James Patrick would be a great addition to my wardrobe. I am sure it would go with most everything in my closet!

These earrings from Fitz and Frannie are just darling. They are available in many color combinations and are priced well.

I can't wait for August to come around. Granted it mens school will be starting (not looking forward to that!) but I will be able to use my new Lilly Pulitzer planner. This year Lifeguard Press put together an academic format. I'm sure just one look at this beauty will cheer me up during class. You can also pre-order this from The Colorful Gator!

Scout Bags by Bungalow & Co. are my favorite. These reusable bags are so cute and preppy! They come in many colors and patterns to suit everyones needs and can hold many Publix reusable bags. There are different sizes depending on your use, even insulated lunch bags! They are so make storage bins in a variety of sizes.

Tisket Tasket

I can't remember when I first saw the Elliot shirt dress in Hotty Pink Tisket Tasket, but when I did, I knew I just HAD to have it. The Colorful Gator ordered the Tisket Tasket print in other items, so they tried to order the dress for me. But this beauty was sold out almost immediately.

Jump forward a few weeks. I visited a corporate Lilly store near home, but I never saw the dress while browsing the store. I had my mom ask while I was trying on a few pieces. The sweet sales girl said they were fresh out. And then she said, wait there is one left and it was my size! I kind of think this dress was meant to be mine(they were just about to close too!).

I just love the way Lilly's Elliot shirt dresses fit. They are so comfortable and casual yet super cute. I love that they have a sash for the waist. Cinches perfectly! And it is PINK!

Independence Day

Today, I will be celebrating our Nation's Independence along with many of you.  I will be spending most of my day poolside.  Our community is having a TEA party before the fireworks, that I will be attending with my family.  Wishing you and yours a very happy Fourth of July.

I will be spending most of my day in a Lilly bikini.  But afterwards I will be sporting the Cedar Knit dress in Bright Navy Lines and Vines, with a white Caroline cardigan (for when the sun sets), Lilly Wedges and pearls!  I can't forget my newest addition to my Longchamp collection, thanks Mom!

($218)

($98)

($178)

($98; Navy)

I can't wait to add my monogram to this little beauty.  But for the Fourth of July, it will look perfect!

Remember to take a moment and thank those who have served our Nation.  Without them we would loose our freedom!

B&N Nook Totes

I don't know about you, but I LOVE tote bags. Like seriously. can't. get. enough. I have way too many. This morning, Lilly Pulitzer announced that they had teamed up with Barnes and Noble and designed a beach tote perfect for carrying B&N's Nook. I don't own a Nook but I sure will be snatching one of these totes!

The totes are made of out a durable Nylon, with cotton braided handles and a PVC lining. The only thing thats specfically for the Nook is the removable pouch. I'm sure I can find a different use for that pouch, say my iPod or phone. I don't want either of those getting sandy or wet!

For now, Lilly P. has two patterns available on B&N's website. You have a choice of: Secret Garden (pink and green) or Buena Vista (blue, white and green).

Secret Garden ($69.95)

Buena Vista ($69.95)

I just recieved my L.L.Bean Tote that I posted about here.  But these Lilly Pulitzer totes are more ideal for school use.

Are you going to snatch one up? What print?

First Day of Summer

Today marks the first day of summer. What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with Lilly Pulitzer. Today is also the first ever, National Wear Your Lilly Day. (Not that I ever need a reason to wear Lilly!) Today I sported a Nadja in Hotty Pink She's a Piston and Silver McKims! What did you wear?

($248)

The Colorful Gator was out in Gainesville spotting people in Lilly Pulitzer, with a chance to receive a twenty-five dollar gift certificate. Sadly, I wasn't spotted! I am hoping those that were spotted post to their Facebook!

The Gator baseball team also played a double elimination round today against Florida State. The team made a huge comeback in the ninth but it wasn't enough! Good effort Gator baseball!

the Nettie

My newest obsession is the Lilly Pulitzer Nettie dress. Seriously, the pictures in the catalog and online do NOT do it justice. This dress is amazing on. The dress in real life has an improved tank top material and the skirt is placed higher. The skirt is flattering without being fitted (surprisingly doesn't make you look pregnant). Next time you're near a store, try it on! Of course, you can always order it from The Colorful Gator!

It comes in Just Add Lemon and Aquamarine Fresh Catch Toile. I picked up the later, but I think I will need to own both of these. It is a great dress, perfect for errands or lunch dates. Like the saying, "don't judge a book by its cover."

SALE!

Have you heard about the amazing Lilly Pulitzer sales going on this weekend? Well let me fill you in on the best one! Meet The Colorful Gator's Great Memorial Day Match sale! They will match any sale out there. This includes the tiered promotions, percentages off, or dollar amounts off. Simply tell them the promotion and they will match it. Shopping online? No problem! Before you complete your purchase there is a comment section. Fill-in the comment section with the best promotion you saw and they will apply the discount when your order is fulfilled. They also offer free shipping on purchases of $100 or more. This sale is just in time for Father's day and the Fourth of July. So ladies, its time to get shopping.

So what should you purchase! You are just in luck because I have some great suggestions. Have you ever tried on the Gloria Pants? They are amazing. You can dress them up or dress them down. These pants are great for running errands while still looking fabulous. Or wear them for a dinner date. You are sure to be comfortable in them. While you cannot see the detail in these, there is pink near the frogs. This is one way to style them; going to class.

Or how about the Lola Dress? This is another great dress and it has pockets! It has a great fit and I really love the shoulder straps. It seems like most summer dresses are strapless.

($148)

Another great classic piece, is the Roslyn skirt! It is a great length, appropriate for work, church and just because. The Roslyn comes in multiple prints and each has unique lace detailing. One of the newest prints and a favorite is Lilly Pad. The frogs are just adorable and the lighter coloring as well as the quiet print is great.

($118)

My last favorite (for today!) is the Katia Knit Wrap. This is one of the most versatile pieces and the price point is amazing. Wear this wrap on cool summer nights, when you're feeling sick (it is sure to make you smile!), or just to keep a little warm. I cannot wait to buy this piece.

($78)

So ladies, search high and low for the best deal and visit The Colorful Gator! Let me know what you purchase this weekend! Happy Shopping!

Guilty Pleasure

Tonight, 9 p.m. Eastern time, is the premiere of ABC's hit show The Bachelorette with Ali Fedotowsky.  I am excited for her return.  She was my favorite from Jake's season the The Bachelor, as well as, America's favorite.  Sadly, Ali's place of employment apparently requested her return.  However, I believed this was ABC's way of getting her off of The Bachelor.  It may be reality television, but it is scripted in ways.

(from abc.com)
She has a twitter account and has tweeted a few times.  One read, "I do read your tweets and they life my spirts."  Of course, she was under contract with ABC and still is and therefore, cannot respond.

I'm waiting for the day ABC has a woman on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette that wears Lilly P.  I understand not wearing clothing with names across them, but of course this is not Lilly.  If fact, most people I encounter do not recognize Lilly or even know what Lilly is. GASP!

Inaugural Post

Hi Blog-World! This is my first post here and what an exciting time to have my blog up and running! On Saturday, Lilly P. offered a great gift with purchase at an amazing price point, $250. I picked up a cooler but a little birdie told me some stores had wine sleeves and beach towels. I love my cooler, but a beach towel would have been great.
Did you pick up your cooler or were you one of the lucky few who snagged a  beach towel?  What were your purchases? I would love to know your thoughts of the current Summer line!

This blog will mainly consist of my Lilly Pulitzer favorites and reviews, polyvores, and an occasional giveaway. While I absolutely love Lilly, I will also post about others. Please e-mail me with your thoughts and suggestions as well as what you would like to see. I will also update you with my favorite blogs. And sales! When I find a great sale, I will be sure to notify you. I love to troll all the websites.
